As we near the end of the year, the real estate market seems to be taking its annual nap. That’s a bit spooky this year, as it seems like we’ve been napping throughout most of the year! Maybe it’s just because I’m a real estate agent, but it amazes me how few homes are selling in Gig Harbor. Prices are low, interest rates are extremely low, everything about economics says buy into this market now, but very little is moving. I think that’s pretty demonstrative of how badly and how many people have been hurt by our economic downturn. Anyway, that’s not what this post is about. This post is meant to fill you in on the open houses in and around Gig Harbor this weekend. There’s only 5, and the 2 on Saturday are my pics for “must see” houses.
I will be holding an open house in the brand new Manchester subdivision of Sunrise View tomorrow (Saturday the 13th) from 10am-12pm. 3bd, 3ba, over 2800sf of luxury home with a nice view of the Puget Sound and the Seattle skyline, sitting on over 1/2 acre, for only $495,000! Those who know me know that I’m not easily impressed with most new construction homes, as they tend to be all the same. Chris Jewell, the builder of this view home in Manchester, impressed me. Cherry floors, cherry cabinets, cherry accents, a unique granite pattern that I’ve never seen before, tumble stone back splashes, top of the line appliances, amazingly efficient floor plan. If you work in Seattle, want a home with a view of the water and of Seattle, but can’t afford King County prices, you owe it to yourself to check this one out!
Also open tomorrow is the ABC Extreme Makeover Home Edition home in Port Orchard. My partners from Keller Williams Realty have listed this unique home and will be hosting an open house tomorrow. Over 3000sf, nearly 4.5acres, and unique touches too numerous to describe, this “famous” house is listed at only $575,000. Jogging distance to the new Franciscan Hospital in Gig Harbor as well as all of the other Gig Harbor North ammenities (Costco, YMCA, Target, Home Depot, Pier 1, etc) it’s a great location. Stop by and check it out. You can tell them Matt sent you, but they won’t give you anything special! It is a catered event though, so it may be worth checking out for that reason alone!

If you’re anywhere near the Puget Sound this weekend, make it a point to visit Gig Harbor! There are several events from the Art Walk, Eagle’s Holiday Bazaar, and Peninsula Civic Orchestra Concert to the Gig Harbor Christmas Tree lighting (5-7pm Saturday at Skansie Bros Park) to the always incredible Tide Fest (Sat and Sun at GHHS). Tide Fest is Gig Harbor’s premier winter arts festival, and well worth the time to go visit.
In addition to all of these fun community events (Gig Harbor is a great place to live, by the way, if you are looking for a real community feel), there are a handful of open houses in Gig Harbor for you to visit (mostly on Sunday). It’s very possible that after spending the weekend visiting Gig Harbor, you’ll want to move here so you can take full advantage of all of our community events! I’d love to help you make the move! View my interactive map of open houses here. If you’ve got any questions about our calendar this weekend, or would like more information on the Gig Harbor real estate market, please let me know!

What a great weekend to get out and see some of the best houses that Gig Harbor has for sale. If you’ve got family in town for Thanksgiving weekend, I’d recommend heading over to Peninsula High School for their annual Winterfest, and then taking some time on Sunday to hit Gig Harbor’s open houses. This is the weekend that many of the area brokerages get together and have a waterfront home tour around Gig Harbor. There are also many other options, including new construction homes for under $200k on the Key Peninsula, and I’ll be hosting an open house in the brand new gated community of The Highlands at Rosedale, Chaffey Homes’ new project. I’d love to see you on Sunday and invite you to tour these great new homes. For an interactive map of all of Gig Harbor’s open houses this weekend, click here.

Another very light weekend for open houses. Only 5, and I had to go out to Olalla to get a 5th. All are on Sunday, 1 open house in Olalla, 1 open house on Fox Island, and 3 in Gig Harbor. You can view the interactive map here.

Like this view? 3200sf big enough? Only $585,000 at 19 Point Fosdick Drive. I bet you can’t find a view like this at $176 per sf!

Hopefully you didn’t make too many plans to go visiting open houses this weekend. There are only 5 in the Gig Harbor area! Here’s the interactive map for those 5.
If you’re looking for a Realtor in Gig Harbor to give you some guidance with these homes or any other homes that may be for sale, or if you’re looking for help in selling your home, I’d be happy to chat with you and see if we might make a good team.

It seems as we move towards the winter, fewer and fewer open houses are being hosted. If you’re looking to sell your home in the Gig Harbor area, I’d check with any real estate agents you’re thinking of hiring and ask them what their policy on open houses is. In buyers’ markets like the Gig Harbor real estate market is in right now, anything to get buyers into your home is a good thing! That being said, here’s the interactive map of open houses in Gig Harbor and Fox Island for this weekend. There are some pretty nice ones. I’ll be hosting an open house on a property I have listed for sale over in Tacoma. If you have a chance, swing by Saturday from 10am-1pm to say hi.
Remember, all of the information here is from the NWMLS and is reliable, but not guaranteed. If you’re looking to buy or sell a home in the Gig Harbor area, I’m more than happy to talk to you to see if I can help.

It’s been a pretty fall here in Gig Harbor. Maybe you’d like to drive around and look at all of the pretty fall leaves at some of the open houses this weekend!
