City of Gig Harbor’s blog
While I do the best I can to keep you up to date on the happenings around the Harbor, the city of Gig Harbor has their own blog, GigHarborGuide. Put it on your radar. I think you’ll really enjoy all the updates!

Did you land on this blog after running a search on Google or Yahoo but the article you’re looking for didn’t show up? Let me give a quick rundown of the best ways for you to utilize this site. On the right hand side of your screen, you should see a box that says “Search” right next to where you’re reading now. Type in any keywords (landscaping, restaurants, etc) and that should bring you right to the article you’re looking for.
If you remember seeing a photo a little while ago and you’d like to revisit that photo, you can scroll to the bottom of the page under “Archives” and look up posts sorted by date. Just above “Archives” is “Categories.” I’ve tried to sort each of the posts into different helpful categories that will make your search easier, as well.
If none of that helps, you can always do it the old fashioned way and call me or email me! As I feed you information through this blog, I want to make sure you’re always able to find what you’re looking for!

I have added a new feature to this blog that will allow you to talk to me directly in real time. If you scroll down on the right hand side you’ll notice a new box titled “Plugoo.” If I am on the computer, it will show a green dot with “I’m online.” Just type in a message and we can chat. If I’m not around, a red dot will appear with “I’m offline.” You can still send me a message, but I won’t get it, so I wouldn’t bother if I were you.
Now if you have a question about Gig Harbor’s real estate market, a specific home for sale in Gig Harbor, or if you have a blog idea for me (maybe you own a small business or your child is in an upcoming play, or maybe you’d be interested in writing a review of the Gig Harbor schools from a parent’s perspective) you can send me an instant message. Try it, you may like it!

Okay, this has very little…okay, nothing…to do with Gig Harbor, but I love these pictures and wanted to showcase them. I drove a group of middle school students from Tacoma to Mt St. Helens in April of ‘06, and got this view. We didn’t go up the mountain, only to the visitor center and museum a ways away. Still kind of fun and some really pretty photos.

I was just looking through my photo file and found this shot that I took this past summer while on a friend’s boat just outside of the literal Gig Harbor. Bald eagles are fairly common around here, but they still amaze me. Their size and beauty are truly awe inspiring when you see them up close. The photo below was taken last week when my wife and I were walking our baby girl and our dog along the Gig Harbor waterfront. This bald eagle was just walking the beach at low tide looking for some food, right there in the Harbor. Pretty cool to live in a place where this is the norm!
