I’m now part of a conspiracy

Posted by Matt Thomson

It’s true.  I’m now part of a conspiracy.  Like so many others I’m tired of the consumerism that is now American Christmas, so I’ve joined ranks with like minded folks and am part of the “Advent Conspiracy.”  This Christmas, my family and I have pledged to Worship Fully, Spend Less, Give More, and Love All.  My colleague at KenmoreUndressed has stronger thoughts about our consumerism than I do, but the sentiment is the same.

If you agree that Christmas can and should mean more than just spending money, and if you are looking for ways to get your family involved in giving without spending, I encourage you to check out Advent Conspiracy!

Matt – I, Mr. Freeze the Financial Curmudgeon, am flattered that you would recommend your readers read the ravings of me, the Curmudgeon. Mr. Freeze has been mightly upset with his fellow Americans in recent times because Mr. Freeze worries that we’ve forgotten about the “good things” in Life. We need to realize that all the junk in the world doesn’t count for anything in the big scheme of things. Life is, after all, about our relationships, our loved-ones, our families and our communities . Mr. Freeze the Financial Curmudgeon believes we’ve “allowed the merchants and retailers get between us and our true selves (kind of like insurance companies!).

So, for what it’s worth, I Mr. Freeze the Financial Curmudgeon, give my “official blessing” to Advent Conspiracy!!!!
