Uptown Car show a HUGE success

Posted by Matt Thomson

What a great Saturday event in Gig Harbor, WA!  I spent the past week in Kauai, just returning late last night.  What greets me on my return to Gig Harbor?  Temps in the mid 70’s, sunshine, and the Inaugural Uptown Carshow at the Uptown Center on Point Fosdick Drive.  Many folks who were out and about Saturday in Gig Harbor may not have known what was going on, but you couldn’t help but notice the amazing crowds and nearly 400 incredible cars and motorcycles on display at the Uptown Shopping Center.

Dorothy Brinz hosted this show as a fund raiser for the Susan G Komen foundation.  It was an amazing day.  Live music, give aways, more cool cars than you could imagine, PERFECT weather.  I was happy to be back home!

So I’m not much of a car guy, and I’m not happy with my photos.  If anybody attended the car show in Gig Harbor and has some better insight or better photos, please leave some comments on this post.  Feel free to share links to any sites you may have posted info or photos.

Yes indeed it was a great car show and a great success for a good cause. Even the band said it was the largest car show they had been to. It was also announced today that the annual “Cruise the Narrows” show which is held in early August will also be at Uptown. (Formerly at the Tacoma Narrows Airport.) What a great venue…and good for the merchants up there as well!

    Is that a real dog?!

Nope…just a display that the owner put up. He kept pouring water around it to make it look more real!
