Gig Harbor Uptown Center Car Show coming up
Gig Harbor car enthusiasts have a fun event coming up…and one that supports a great cause. Fox Island resident Dorothy Brinz will be hosting the inaugural Gig Harbor Uptown Car Show to benefit the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Research foundation. Dorothy will be participating in the Seattle 3-day, and this car show will help raise funds for her walk. The show will take place on May 30th from 10am-4pm. There will be live music, food from Sherm’s BBQ, lots of gifts, and inspiration from breast cancer survivors.
If you’ve got a car or motorcycle that you’d like to have in the show, it’s only a $20 donation! They’re looking for ANY kind of car…old classic cars, big trucks, new luxury cars, it doesn’t matter. If you’ve got a car you’d like to show off for a $20 donation, visit the show’s website to register your vehicle. Currently they have a ‘30 Ford, an ‘08 Honda s2000, a few Corvettes and Harleys…any vehicle is welcome!
If you’d like to volunteer at the event, they’re looking for some morning help to get the cars all lined up. Volunteers will get a free breakfast from Panera Bread and a t-shirt as well. Many of the shops in the Gig Harbor Uptown Center have stepped up and donated great prizes for the show, demonstrating the great sense of community that Gig Harbor has! If you’d like to volunteer at the event, if you have a vehicle you’d like to feature, or if you want to make a donation to Dorothy’s 3-day, visit her website.
