Gig Harbor History Museum’s first guest

Posted by Matt Thomson

The first guest to the Gig Harbor History Museum arrived last week.  The historic boat Shenandoah (read more about it atGigHarborScene), which was built in Gig Harbor, has parked in its final garage.  I was a bit surprised that they had her facing the road and not the Harbor, but maybe seeing all those other boats out there would have made her long to get back in the water.

I heard a rumor that the History Museum has stopped construction due to a funding issue.  Does anybody have any information on that?  What a shame if it’s true.  Gig Harbor has an amazing history, and this museum will really bring it to life for guests and residents alike.  I hope I heard incorrectly.  I’d love any more info if you have it.

Shenandoah

It was a gorgeous day in Gig Harbor yesterday.  Notice Mount Rainier behind the Shenandoah, and the moon up above.
