Ironic
I hope I don’t start too much controversy with this post, but I thought this was pretty funny. I was driving up to the Gig Harbor Target the other day and was following this car. I know it’s not wise to take photos while driving, but I couldn’t resist.

I’m all for Hybrids, and I wish my car got better gas mileage, but this one was a bit much. The bumper sticker that’s actually on the bumper is the one that made me laugh. Is it more unpatriotic to drive a gas guzzler than to drive a foreign made car? I could just picture a Bill Engval type driving their big ol’ gas guzzling Chevy right over this car. Not meant to offend, I’d buy a hybrid truck in a second if they made one I could afford, but I haven’t found one yet!

Ironic it is! A Hummer is less damaging to the environment than a Prius. The nickel is mined in Ontario, Canada, then shipped to Japan, then back to the U.S. The battery life at this time is only 100,000 miles and then needs to be replaced and the cycle starts all over. A Hummer (no I don’t own one) will probably run for plus 300,000 miles. Also, little vegetation grows in the area where the nickel is mined…I’m curious if that car had Oregon plates? Just my opinion…

Interesting points…they were Washington plates, but that’s a good guess!
