Great comments! Moving to Gig Harbor is a tough decision for some, because they're nervous about commuting from Gig Harbor to Tacoma or Seattle. Others are worried (rightfully so) about the cost of homes.
I've yet to sell a home in Gig Harbor to anybody who isn't thrilled with their decision, though. For folks looking to relocate to the "Seattle area," Gig Harbor seems to be a great match! Thanks for your insights.

My comment as a former S.F. Bay Area, California resident: Gig Harbor is like "Tiburon North" to me. The temp in the winter is about 10 degrees lower than the S.F. area. Summers are better up here and there is lots of scenic "eye candy" plus you cant beat the great people and community spirit! The only downside is the overcast/rain/mist during the winter months. (some people up here enjoy that but I don't ...) I have lived throughout the Seattle area including the Magnolia district (Seattle), Bellevue, Silverdale (Kitsap County) and this is definitely the best spot. We live in downtown Gig Harbor which is nice since we are so close to great parks/restaurants, etc...I am in sales so I can live anywhere in the region but we chose Gig Harbor over 12 years ago because of the many benefits...just my two cents...

Working from home eliminated the commute. We could live anywhere in the world and we chose Gig Harbor. Good schools, clean air, not crowded and an airport nearby. And it's close to Seattle for the times we do want a big-city experience.
